Buy sideboard on ManapoolThoughtseize lets us proactively strip their Force of Will or Daze before jamming a key threat, and helps us play around their disruption-heavy plan. Endurance answers Murktide Regent by resetting its delve fuel and can be evoked for free to blank a graveyard-dependent draw. Once Upon a Time is weaker here since it doesn't fight through countermagic, and Quirion Ranger's mana-fixing utility is less relevant against a deck without Wasteland-heavy mana denial pressure on our side. Keep the core ramp-into-threats plan intact since we need to present overwhelming board states they can't answer one-for-one.
Dismember cheaply answers Guide of Souls and Ajani, Nacatl Pariah before they generate a snowballing token board, which is critical since our creatures are otherwise outclassed on defense. Duress strips their Thogged disruption or a key Swords to Plowshares before we commit our hand to the board. Grist is often too slow against their proactive token-and-removal plan, and Wirewood Symbiote's untap utility matters less when we need raw removal and interaction against a wide aggressive board. We keep our core mana creatures and payoffs to still race with Craterhoof Behemoth and Gaea's Cradle mana.
Thoughtseize proactively strips their Show and Tell, Aluren, or Force of Will before they can assemble their engine, which is our best angle against a deck that wants to combo off with Aluren and Acererak the Archlich. Dismember can kill an early Aluren-enabled creature threat cheaply while we disrupt their hand. Once Upon a Time and the untap-focused creatures like Quirion Ranger and Wirewood Symbiote provide little value against a combo deck we're racing to disrupt rather than out-value on board. We keep our fast mana creatures to still pressure them with Natural Order or Green Sun's Zenith if disruption alone doesn't close it out.
