This mirror-style matchup comes down to protecting our threats and disrupting theirs; Consign to Memory counters colorless spells and triggered abilities, hitting Mishra's Bauble and opposing triggers while replicating to stop multiple triggers at once. Spell Snare only hits mana value 2, missing Nethergoyf and Moonshadow, so it's less impactful here and comes out for consistency. Lavinia, Azorius Renegade is strong disruption, countering their free spells like Daze and Force of Will when cast without mana, while restricting noncreature spells. While Nethergoyf and Moonshadow are only mana value 1, Prismatic Ending is sorcery speed, so we trim it for more proactive disruption.

This is a wide creature-token strategy, so narrow countermagic like Spell Snare (mana value 2 only) and Force of Negation (noncreature spells only) underperforms against their mostly-creature gameplan. Wrath of the Skies becomes a premier answer, wiping Cat tokens, Guide of Souls, and Ajani, Nacatl Pariah before he can flip. Prismatic Ending cleanly exiles Ocelot Pride or Guide of Souls for one mana, or an early Ajani for two mana. Lavinia, Azorius Renegade counters free spells from Amped Raptor while adding another body, complementing our removal-heavy plan against their token swarm.

Eldrazi floods the board with cheap colorless creatures and runs Chalice of the Void, which can shut off our one-mana cantrips and countermagic — Spell Snare and Spell Pierce are weak or dead against a Chalice set low, so they come out. Wrath of the Skies is excellent since their creatures are numerous and often cheap, letting a modest energy payment wipe most of their board. Containment Priest is a solid blocking body since their creatures are all cast normally rather than cheated in, and Lavinia taxes their noncreature spells like Kozilek's Command while countering anything they cast for free. Force of Negation is cut since their gameplan is almost entirely creature-based.
