Ocelot Pride Midrange goes wide with 1/1 and 2/1 Cat tokens, so Fiery Confluence's mode dealing 1 damage to each creature can wipe multiple tokens at once while also pinging opponents for life. Dead/Gone's first half kills small Cats and Guide of Souls for a single red mana, and its second half can bounce a problematic Ajani, Nacatl Pariah or Voice of Victory. Trinisphere is weak since their deck is full of one- and two-mana efficient plays we'd rather not tax ourselves on, and Magus of the Moon is low-impact since their manabase is mostly basics and fetches for basics. Keep Chalice of the Void at one for Ocelot Pride and Guide of Souls.

Dimir Tempo is loaded with blue spells (Brainstorm, Force of Will, Daze, Ponder, Flow State) and blue creatures (Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student, Murktide Regent, Brazen Borrower), making Red Elemental Blast excellent both as free countermagic insurance and as cheap removal/disenchant for a flipped Tamiyo or a landed Murktide Regent. Dead/Gone's first mode can snipe an early Moonshadow or Nethergoyf before it grows out of control. Trinisphere is weak against their already-efficient one-mana cantrips and removal suite, and Magus of the Moon is low-value since most of their relevant lands are basics or Underground Sea/Volcanic Island types that still produce colored mana as Mountains, which actually helps them less but isn't worth the card disadvantage against their countermagic. Keep Chalice of the Void in to fight their cantrip-heavy curve.

Sultai Aluren ramps hard with Birds of Paradise, Ignoble Hierarch, and Gaea's Cradle, and its spells are spread across many mana values (one-mana dorks, two-mana Badgermole Cubs and Once Upon a Time, and Green Sun's Zenith at varying X), so Chalice of the Void only stops one slice of its deck at a time and is a weak fit here. Trinisphere is also poor because it taxes our own cheap spells, including Chrome Mox, as much as theirs. Fiery Confluence's damage-to-each-creature mode can clear their mana dorks and small tokens, while the burn-to-opponent mode adds reach against a deck with few ways to interact with our life total. Unlicensed Hearse can exile cards from graveyards to shrink Wight of the Reliquary and shut off the lands they replay from the graveyard with Icetill Explorer and Mole Man, Moloid Master. Keep Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon in since they severely punish Gaea's Cradle, Bayou, and other nonbasics.
