Surgical Extraction lets you strip a key Moonshadow, Nethergoyf, or Bilbo, Thief in the Night from hand and graveyard once you see it via Thoughtseize or in response to a cantrip. The extra Cabal Therapy adds another discard spell to clear countermagic before you go off. Duress is weaker here since it misses their creature-based threats like Moonshadow, Nethergoyf, and Bilbo, even though it can still strip Force of Will or Daze; trim one Beseech the Mirror copy since it's a slower bargain payoff against a deck actively trying to Wasteland your mana.

Ocelot Pride Midrange goes wide fast with Ocelot Pride tokens, Guide of Souls, and Ajani, Nacatl Pariah, so you need proactive removal rather than just discard. Feed the Swarm kills Ocelot Pride, Guide of Souls, or Ajani outright (accepting the life loss is fine since you're racing to combo, not racing on life against their clock). The second Cabal Therapy strips a hand piece or answers Orcish Bowmasters triggers before they punish your cantrips. Duress only hits noncreature spells and whiffs on their entire creature-based game plan, so it comes out; one Beseech the Mirror trims since the matchup is about resolving your combo quickly rather than grinding for the perfect tutor target.

Sultai Aluren combines Show and Tell with Aluren to cheat out Atraxa, Grand Unifier or Acererak the Archlich, protected by Force of Will and Veil of Summer, making this another fast combo race. Surgical Extraction can strip a copy of Aluren or Show and Tell from hand/graveyard once revealed, disrupting their primary engine. The extra Cabal Therapy adds proactive discard to remove a key piece or Force of Will before you commit. Duress only hits noncreature spells, missing their creature payoffs, so it's cut for more targeted disruption; Beseech the Mirror is trimmed by one since winning this race quickly outweighs finding the perfect silver bullet.
