Dimir Tempo wants to land Bilbo or Nethergoyf and protect it with Force of Will and Daze, so extra free countermagic in Force of Negation lets you fight on their terms while ahead on tempo. Pyroblast answers Bilbo, Thief in the Night on the stack or on the battlefield, while also countering key blue interaction and cantrips like Force of Will, Daze, Brainstorm, and Ponder. Flow State and Curie are cut since they are slower value pieces that don't interact with the opponent's disruptive game plan or their resilient threats. Keep Stifle in to blunt fetchland value and Bilbo's attack triggers, and lean on Wasteland and Force of Will to keep pace with their own disruption suite.

Ocelot Pride Midrange goes wide with token generation from Ocelot Pride and Ajani, Nacatl Pariah, so Fire Magic is excellent, dealing damage to each creature to clear away their Cat tokens and early threats. The extra Prismatic Ending gives you more ways to answer their early threats like Guide of Souls or Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, converging colors easily off your manabase. Stifle has few profitable targets against this creature-based strategy, so it comes out along with a Mishra's Bauble to make room while keeping your core removal suite of Swords to Plowshares and Prismatic Ending intact.

Sultai Aluren wants to Show and Tell into Atraxa, Grand Unifier or assemble Aluren for cheap creature combos, so proactive countermagic is critical. Force of Negation is a premium answer to Show and Tell or Aluren itself, and Consign to Memory can strip a triggered ability or catch a Lotus Petal-fueled play, though note it cannot counter their creature spells since those aren't colorless. Faerie Macabre does not interact with Acererak the Archlich since its enters-the-battlefield ability returns it to its owner's hand rather than the graveyard, and they lack escape-adjacent recursion plans or Nethergoyf-style graveyard value. Stifle is weak here since they have few relevant abilities to target, Curie is too slow against their combo speed, and Dress Down is less impactful since most of their key threats (Atraxa, Acererak) want their abilities rather than being blanked by losing them.
