This Gruul deck leans on colorless Eldrazi ramp through Eldrazi Temple and Urza's Saga plus card selection from Ancient Stirrings and Malevolent Rumble to power out Emrakul or Devourer of Destiny; Vexing Bauble is largely dead here since their spells cost mana, so this plan focuses more on speed and disruption. Claim the Firstborn steals an early Glaring Fleshraker or Basking Broodscale to blunt their board development. Cool but Rude provides a resilient clock that punishes their slower, ramp-heavy draws. Ox of Agonas is too clunky against a deck that can close games with a giant Eldrazi threat, so it comes out for more proactive and disruptive cards.

Izzet Prowess is a fast, low-to-the-ground aggro-tempo deck that wants to race; Vexing Bauble shuts off their free Mutagenic Growth and taxes their cheap cantrips like Preordain, which is a huge tempo gain. Surgical Extraction can strip a key Dragon's Rage Channeler or Cori-Steel Cutter after it hits the graveyard/battlefield to blunt their engine. Claim the Firstborn steals a cheap threat like Monastery Swiftspear or Slickshot Show-Off to turn a blocker into extra offense. Ox of Agonas and Nethergoyf are cut since they're clunky against a deck this fast and low-impact for their mana; Raucous Theater's tapped land is too slow in a race.

Esper GenericBlink grinds with Solitude, Flickerwisp, Ephemerate, and Overlord of the Balemurk value; Thoughtseize proactively strips their key interaction (Solitude, Thoughtseize) or their best blink piece before it snowballs. Claim the Firstborn can steal a cheap Phelia or Flickerwisp to blank a blink trigger and turn it into an attacker. Cool but Rude gives us a repeatable discard-to-damage/tutor engine that outgrinds their card advantage over a long game. Nethergoyf and Ox of Agonas are cut since Orcish Bowmasters and Fatal Push punish clunky big spells, and Violent Urge is too narrow against their removal-heavy plan.
