This matchup is a race against their colorless Eldrazi ramp engine and Urza's Saga; Culling Ritual sweeps Basking Broodscale, Blade of the Bloodchief, and Vexing Bauble while ramping you into your own threats. Surgical Extraction strips cards milled by Malevolent Rumble or copies of Urza's Saga once one hits the graveyard. Damping Sphere slows Eldrazi Temple/Ugin's Labyrinth mana and taxes multiple spells in a turn. March of Wretched Sorrow and Soul Spike are too slow against their ramp curve, and Witherbloom Charm's 2-mana-or-less clause whiffs on most of their threats.

Against a low-curve tempo/burn deck, Inquisition of Kozilek strips their cheap threats or Cori-Steel Cutter before it comes down. A second pair of Dauthi Voidwalker gives you more unblockable clocks, and though they die to Lightning Bolt, they deny their graveyard value from Dragon's Rage Channeler's surveil. Sheoldred, the Apocalypse is a liability since she dies to a Lightning Bolt plus a Monastery Swiftspear hit and their aggressive plan doesn't care much about the life-loss trigger before they kill you; Fell the Profane's removal side is clunky against their mana value 2 or less creatures compared to keeping Fatal Push as the primary answer.

Esper Blink plays a grindy value game with Ephemerate/Phelia loops and Overlord of the Balemurk recursion, so Inquisition of Kozilek proactively strips their key blink pieces or removal before they resolve. Ashiok, Dream Render shuts off Flooded Strand/Marsh Flats/Polluted Delta fetching and denies recursion targets, which is strong against their fetch-heavy manabase. The extra Sheoldred's Edict answers a resolved threat like Kaito, Bane of Nightmares by forcing a sacrifice. Force of Despair is weak since their creatures rarely all land the same turn, and March of Wretched Sorrow is too narrow against higher-toughness threats like Overlord of the Balemurk.
