Boros Energy is a fast, wide aggro deck that generates significant value through Guide of Souls, Ocelot Pride, and Ragavan — your primary goal is to establish the Yawgmoth combo before they go wide enough to race you. Fatal Push handles their key one- and two-drops like Ragavan and Ajani cleanly, while Thoughtseize strips Blood Moon or Ranger-Captain of Eos before they can disrupt your mana or lock down your combo. Outland Liberator comes in to answer their artifacts and enchantments, particularly Goblin Bombardment, which can sacrifice creatures in response to Yawgmoth activations and break up your combo. Spymaster's Vault is too slow and mana-intensive against their aggressive curve, and Strangleroot Geist, Formidable Speaker, and Virulent Emissary are low-impact bodies that don't advance your combo or provide enough defensive value to justify their slots here.
Jeskai Blink is a tempo-control deck that wins by blinking Phelia and Phlage repeatedly to generate card advantage and burn you out, while Solitude and Galvanic Discharge handle your creatures efficiently. Thoughtseize comes in to disrupt their hand early and strip key interaction like Consign to Memory or Ephemerate before you commit to your combo. Fatal Push gives you efficient answers to Ragavan and Phelia, preventing them from snowballing value in the early turns. Spymaster's Vault is too slow and win-more in a matchup where you need to combo off quickly before their card advantage takes over; Formidable Speaker and Virulent Emissary are low-impact pieces that don't advance your gameplan fast enough against their interaction-heavy build. Your primary game plan is to establish undying creatures and resolve Yawgmoth while holding up Delighted Halfling mana to protect the combo through Consign to Memory.
Affinity is a fast artifact-based combo deck that generates huge threats through Urza's Saga, Kappa Cannoneer, and Weapons Manufacturing while protecting them with Metallic Rebuke and Mox Opal mana. Your gameplan is to race with Yawgmoth's sacrifice engine while disrupting their artifact permanents — Force of Vigor can blow out multiple Sagas or Opals at instant speed, and Fatal Push efficiently removes Emry or Arcbound Ravager before they snowball. Outland Liberator provides repeatable artifact hate that also generates undying triggers for your engine. Trim the lower-impact undying bodies and Spymaster's Vault (too slow against their clock) and the Damping Sphere that hurts your own mana. Watch out for post-board Whipflare and Grafdigger's Cage — the Cage shuts off Yawgmoth's activated ability, so have a Force of Vigor ready.
