Red Elemental Blast stays boarded out. Sneaky Snacker is a blue card, but a Mountains-only opponent never casts it, and destroying it just puts it back in the graveyard, where it returns when they draw a third card in a turn. Thraben Charm's graveyard-exile mode is the real answer to Sneaky Snacker. Exiling their graveyard means it can't come back from the graveyard on a third draw, while the damage mode can snipe Voldaren Epicure or a token. Standard Bearer is a cheap early blocker, and while it is on the battlefield the opponent's burn spells and abilities must target it if able. That soaks up Lightning Bolt, Fiery Temper, Lava Dart and the like instead of letting them hit our key creatures or our face. Cut Loran's Escape and some Prismatic Strands since this matchup rewards removing recurring threats and drawing burn away over protecting one permanent.

Dimir Control is blue-black, so Red Elemental Blast is live here: it counters a blue spell (Counterspell, Spellstutter Sprite, Lorien Revealed, Brainstorm) or destroys a blue permanent (Baleful Strix, Faerie Seer, Spellstutter Sprite, Ninja of the Deep Hours). Cast into the Fire stays home, since its exile mode only has a few artifact creature targets (Baleful Strix, Mukotai Ambusher) and Red Elemental Blast covers Baleful Strix better. Thraben Charm's graveyard-exile mode shuts off Plunder the Trollshaws flashback and Extract a Confession's evidence, while its damage mode (twice the number of creatures you control) can snipe a Baleful Strix, Faerie Seer or Spellstutter Sprite. Standard Bearer forces their targeted removal (Snuff Out, Cast Down, Agony Warp) onto itself, protecting your real threats like Tireless Tribe and Aurora Eidolon. Bitter Reunion and Sandstorm Eidolon are cut since this grindy matchup rewards disruption over enablers, and Fling and one Prismatic Strands are the weakest cards against a counterspell-heavy deck.

Spy Combo wants to flood the board with green creatures and loop Balustrade Spy triggers via Dread Return; Obsidian Acolyte is a solid blocker whose pump ability can save itself or another creature from removal. Thraben Charm's graveyard-exile mode denies Dread Return's flashback cost a target and its damage mode, scaling with your creature count, can pick off small green creatures like Elves of Deep Shadow or Quirion Ranger. Loran's Escape and some Prismatic Strands are trimmed since this matchup is about disrupting their engine rather than protecting a single piece.
