This matchup is a race where we need to survive the early clock and stabilize with our big creatures. Red Elemental Blast is dead since Mono Red Madness casts no blue spells, so it stays home; instead Breath Weapon sweeps Voldaren Epicure (though Kessig Flamebreather survives with 3 toughness) while leaving our bigger threats untouched. We're cutting slower, situational cards like Pulse of Murasa and Malevolent Rumble that don't affect the race quickly enough. Keep the full artifact mana base and Ancient Stirrings package intact since we need to hit land drops fast to close the game before burn adds up.

Red Elemental Blast is excellent here, countering Counterspell, Tolarian Terror, Cryptic Serpent, or Delver of Secrets, or destroying a problematic Delver/Serpent/Terror once resolved. Faerie Macabre can be discarded to exile cards from their graveyard, directly denying the cost reduction that makes Tolarian Terror and Cryptic Serpent cheap threats. We trim Pulse of Murasa and Unfathomable Truths since they're too slow against a deck full of counterspells that can strand our expensive spells, and cut some Malevolent Rumble since we want more interaction than card selection here.

This is the mirror match, so the game plan is about who ramps and deploys threats faster; Faerie Macabre can be discarded to exile their Plunder the Trollshaws from their graveyard to deny flashback, disrupting their card advantage engine slightly. We keep our own core Tron package fully intact since symmetry matters most here. Unfathomable Truths is cut because it's too slow compared to just deploying threats first in the mirror.
