Gruul Goblins is a fast tribal deck that wins through Goblin Lackey cheating in Goblin Piledriver and Siege-Gang Commander while Goblin Warchief accelerates the clock. Your discard outlet engine (Wild Mongrel, Tireless Tribe, Patrol Hound) is key here — pitch Glory at instant speed to give your team protection from red and survive combat blowouts or Siege-Gang pings. Swords to Plowshares is critical for stopping Goblin Piledriver and Goblin Ringleader before they take over; use it liberally rather than holding it. Bring in Crumble to answer Rishadan Port, which is their best tool for slowing your threshold development, or to hit any artifact they side in. Savannah Lions and Arrogant Wurm (via Rootwalla madness) let you race, but the real game plan is hitting threshold fast so Glory can permanently neutralize their combat damage.
Mono-Blue Stiflenought aims to put Phyrexian Dreadnought into play for free by using Stifle to counter the sacrifice trigger, giving them a 12/12 trampler on turn one or two. Your primary plan is to go wide and fast with your discard outlet package — Wild Mongrel and Tireless Tribe let you pitch Glory, which shuts down their Dreadnought attacks entirely by granting protection from blue. Threshold-enabled Arrogant Wurm and Call of the Herd tokens also outrace their single threat if you can apply early pressure. Crumble comes in to destroy a tapped-out Dreadnought at instant speed before they can protect it, since their counterspell suite can be taxed by your cheap threats. Sylvan Library is too slow against their fast combo kill and Prismatic Strands has minimal value here since their only real damage source is colorless trampling.
Mono-Black Midrange wins through early hand disruption from Cabal Therapy and Duress backed by evasive threats like Hypnotic Specter, while their post-board enchantments—Gloom, Dystopia, and Engineered Plague—are designed to shut down white and green creature strategies entirely. Tranquil Domain and Ray of Revelation answer the enchantment package efficiently, with Tranquil Domain's instant-speed mass destruction being especially valuable when they deploy multiple enchantments simultaneously. Compost is a powerful draw engine here, replacing the cards stripped by their discard spells whenever their black permanents or spells hit the graveyard. Mystic Enforcer becomes an unanswerable threat with protection from black once threshold is active, so prioritize filling the graveyard quickly with Wild Mongrel and Tireless Tribe discard activations rather than holding cards. Use Swords to Plowshares immediately on Hypnotic Specter to protect your hand, and note that Withered Wretch can exile your graveyard to deny Glory recursion and threshold, so don't rely on Glory as your primary protection plan.
