Izzet Spellementals is a UR Aggro shell of entirely red and blue spells, so Flashfreeze is live against Burst Lightning, Prismari Charm, or a Slickshot Show-Off. An additional Deadly Cover-Up helps reset the board against their Eddymurk Crab and Otter tokens before they overrun you. Strategic Betrayal is weak since they rarely commit to a single standout threat worth exiling, and Duress is low-impact against a low-curve tempo deck without one clear key card. Use Nowhere to Run and Sear to pick off Slickshot Show-Off before it connects.

Mono-Green Landfall is almost entirely creatures with a heavy early curve — Llanowar Elves, Sazh's Chocobo, Icetill Explorer, Mightform Harmonizer — so a fourth Deadly Cover-Up and Day of the Black Sun for X=2 give you more ways to wipe their board before Earthbender Ascension and Ba Sing Se take over. Sear is a poor rate one-for-one against their small, wide creatures compared to a sweeper, and Duress has almost no legal noncreature targets against a deck with just a handful of enchantments. Save Nowhere to Run for anything that slips through, like Bristly Bill.

Jeskai Control has almost no early creatures, so Sear is often a dead card sitting in hand — cut it for proactive disruption. A second Duress lets you strip Jeskai Revelation or a key Stock Up/Tablet of Discovery before they can chain card advantage, and Strategic Betrayal answers their lone Thor, God of Thunder while emptying their graveyard of recursion targets. Prioritize resolving your own threats and Tablet of Discovery mana while using Nowhere to Run and Deadly Cover-Up reactively against Thor if it lands. Together as One is too slow and mana-hungry against a deck that can simply bounce or counter it with Jeskai Revelation or Three Steps Ahead.
