Gruul Broodscale is a combo deck that wins by assembling Basking Broodscale plus Blade of the Bloodchief plus Glaring Fleshraker to generate infinite mana and funnel it into Walking Ballista for infinite damage β your priority is dismantling the non-creature pieces before the engine goes online. Consign to Memory is your best tool here, countering Blade of the Bloodchief triggers, Urza's Saga's construct-making ability, and Walking Ballista drain activations. Wear // Tear answers the two key permanents directly: Blade of the Bloodchief as an artifact and Urza's Saga as an enchantment, both of which are central to their gameplan. Wrath of the Skies handles a developed creature board if they flood the battlefield with Glaring Fleshrakers and Devourer of Destinys before you can close. Your fast Domain clock with Territorial Kavu and Scion of Draco forces them to combo quickly, while Stubborn Denial and Leyline Binding remain in to interact with Kozilek's Command and any Emrakul they might land.
Izzet Prowess wins by chaining multiple spells in a single turn to pump Monastery Swiftspear, Dragon's Rage Channeler, and Slickshot Show-Off to lethal damage, so High Noon is the premier sideboard enchantment here β restricting them to one spell per turn completely dismantles their explosive sequences. Wear // Tear comes in to efficiently destroy Cori-Steel Cutter before it generates card advantage or enables a hasty lethal attack. Mystical Dispute provides cheap, mana-efficient countermagic for Expressive Iteration and blue threats like Slickshot Show-Off. Keep Stubborn Denial active throughout, as Ferocious is usually online and it neutralizes Mutagenic Growth and Violent Urge at instant speed; Orcish Bowmasters stays in to punish Preordain and trade cleanly with their one-toughness threats. Teferi and Nishoba Brawler are trimmed as the slowest and least interactive cards in a race where every mana and card must generate immediate board impact.
Esper GenericBlink is a tempo-control deck that uses Phelia, Solitude, and Ephemerate to generate card advantage while disrupting your board with Fatal Push and Thoughtseize. Your primary win condition is the same as always β fast damage through Leyline of the Guildpact enabling Scion of Draco, Territorial Kavu, and Tribal Flames β but you need to play through interaction rather than racing. Mystical Dispute gives you cheap countermagic against their blue threats like Quantum Riddler and Overlord of the Balemurk, and shores up the Teferi mirror. The second Teferi, Time Raveler is brought in to shut off Ephemerate and Emperor of Bones activations at instant speed, turning off their primary value engine. Nishoba Brawler and Thundering Falls come out as the weakest redundant threats that don't contribute to the plan of punching through permission.
